Wembley Lions

Faith was thrilled to receive a commission from the Football Association to make sculpture for the iconic Wembley Stadium! Having seen the stunning Veolia Tiger made of over 400 plastic milk bottles, the FA group wanted her to devise a sculpture to highlight their approach to recycling in partnership with Veolia Environment. After some discussion the FA Group agreed she would create two life-size Lion sculptures using recycled materials gathered from Wembley Stadium. One Lion sculpture is made totally from cardboard and the other Lion mainly plastics including Carlsberg bottles to old plastic seating from the terraces. The works were completed in her Liverpool studio and installed within Wembley Stadium late summer 2014. The two new Lions join a reclaimed metal Lion sculpture by another artist, to complete the three Lions as featured on the FA's famous logo. The Lions are on permanent display on Level 2 of Club Wembley.
