The Ships Cat

Did you know that a group of rats are are known as a Mischief? Culture Liverpool commissioned Faith to create a new sculpture for the Tall Ships Regatta, as part of the Changing Tides artistic programme celebrating 2018, the ten year anniversary of Liverpool being European Capital of Culture in 2008. Faith created The Ships Cat large sculpture from around 2,000 reclaimed plastic milk bottles, collected by staff in the city’s Cunard Building. The Ships Cat was joined by the Super Rat previously shown in the Baltic Triangle, plus new rat babies created with local schools St Patricks Primary and Childwall Academy. The Ships Cat and Rat Mischief went on display on late May Bank Holiday weekend 2018 at the Albert Dock, close to Tate Liverpool. Faith also led free drop in workshops for the public in Mermaid House, Albert Dock.
